Guy Diehl
Artist in Residence
Guy Diehl has been visiting Magnolia Editions and participating in various projects for several decades. His exceptional talent and craftsmanship are evident in his still-life etchings, lithographs, and drawings produced at Magnolia over the years. He has also generously contributed to the woodcut editions by Mel Ramos and helped assemble Chuck Close tiles for an exhibition in Italy.
In the last five years, Guy has focused on drawing and has been selecting Renaissance-style handmade linen and hemp paper from Magnolia's paper studio during his visits. His artistry shines through in these drawings, which showcase his creativity and skill, bringing to life the unique texture of the paper surface. In addition to capturing the beauty of his subjects, Guy's work has contributed to the ongoing development of Magnolia's distinctive paper.
Through his weekly visits, Guy has established a strong relationship with the team at Magnolia Editions and has had a lasting impact on the studio's development, particularly with their papers.
